We are Change’s Paul and Colin try to discuss a contrary view with “Sustainable Developer” Gavin Harte. Part B coming soon. We are Change attend an “activist” rally, organised by “Stop Climate Chaos”, a group dedicated to ensuring we get Carbon Taxes and other Global Warming legislation in Ireland ASAP. We believe that it should be possible to question this science, same as anything can be questioned, without being called nuts. The phrases and antics of these type of people are very suspicious and hint strongly of Common Purpose. We believe AGW is mostly myth and is being exaggerated by corrupt science and media hype to scare us all into the supposed ‘solution’ ; a tax on carbon. We believe that a carbon tax will do nothing more than transfer even more wealth from us and even if AGW is real and carbon is causing it a tax will not solve the problem. These people don’t have a solution other than charging us money! We also believe that the sun cycles are not understood fully and that the solar effects are greater than the AGW proponents admit. @laijra spraying c02 in the sky would not cloud seed, also there is no proof of that, so don’t spread rumors.
Considering these so-called scientists can’t predict tomorrow’s weather with any degree of accuracy, this whole climate change scam is laughable. If they were really concerned about excessive CO2 in the atmosphere they wouldn’t be spraying it in the skies to cloud seed.

@WeAreChangeEire Humanity isn’t the problem & shouldn’t be viewed as such, it’s the technology we’re using. I find though that most of the headings discussed in Agenda 21 sound exactly like what an evil establishment “bent on world domination” wouldn’t want. You’re making a LOT of assumptions about the motivations behind Green policies. This really comes down to the old ideological conflict between the so-called Free Market and government intervention. Scare-mongerers on both sides, I suppose.

@JVbin tax is only the start. If they can convince most people that everyone else is the problem, its peoples selfish western living and too many people that is killing the planet, them humanity turns in on itself, human beings wishing other people would die or stop procreating and using planes. the reality of it is, humanity is not the enemy, it is the solution. if there is an enemy in this case, its agenda 21 and sustainable development. youtube those keywords, google the documents

@WeAreChangeEire There are idiots pushing this, granted. Ones who don’t read into it piss me off as much as they do you. But I’ve read into it & I just find the sceptical arguments far less convincing than the proponents. I’d also feel you’re campaigning against genuine problems with globalisation but you’re getting side-tracked by this. You’d be better off focusing on the topics of your other videos because this just isn’t the same thing. There are far easier ways to just scab taxes off people.

@WeAreChangeEire IF it does exist, the reason for a carbon tax is to incentivise investing in technologies which although necessary haven’t had their costs driven down yet. The last few years have shown the “Free Market” can’t be trusted for everything. It’s helping out technology that we need but there isn’t enough consumer demand for yet. Taxing a coal plant for example would eventually make it cheaper for them to store carbon rather than pollute it. Also, costs are coming down all the time.

@WeAreChangeEire I think you’re being too pessimistic about the carbon tax. It does sound horrible to have another tax on top of all the other shit happening at the moment. But like I said a tax of €50 per ton is somewhere around 25c per person when you do the math. Even for someone on low-income that’s nothing. It would be great though if they abolished income tax as outlined by the New Economics Foundation. But that’s me being too optimistic.

@WeAreChangeEire And it was expressing that the position of a scientific establishment of note is corrupt on this issue, because of the huge influx of money generated by the AGW phenomenon, and he was saying that Michael Mann and Phil Jones were exonorated for financial reasons rather than because the claims of fraud against them were untrue. Thats significant.
@JVbin It was the expression of a scientist of note. Collect 2500 of these and you have a civilisation changing consensus.
@JVbin A tax that ‘would have to be tougher on businesses than homeowners’ will raise the operating costs of business, who employ homeowners. Many business will let people go, they will then have less money but higher taxes. There is a global recession on, people are finding it tough as it is. People who say ‘it won’t be tough on taxpayers’ must not be on minimum wage, its a ‘Let them eat cake’ attitude.

@JVBin As a bit of evidence for this attitude look at the 10:10 advert which was, thankfully, pulled recently. Curb your carbon or we blow you up. No pressure. Ah, sure that was only a joke though. No it wasn’t. This is the mentality of a huge amount of people in this movement. There are genuine people, as I believe you are, but we believe the energy of people like you is being hijacked by a lie for profit and control.

@WeAreChangeEire We will be told that the carbon tax is nearly working but it needs to be raised just a little bit, or else the planet will die, and it will all be our fault. Thats some guilt trip. Then it will go up again, and again, like every other tax. They will not stop selling us oil though, it’ll just be more expensive.
@WeAreChangeEire sorry, replied to wrong comment. Anyway, how will a carbon tax solve the problem even if it exists? We are being stampeded into a global tax for spurious reasons. In a few years time if the AGW story still stands as true and the planet isn’t miraculously saved what will happen the tax? It will go up, just as every other tax does.
@JVbin Which taxpayers will it have a negligible impact on, the ones on low income or the ones on high income? Taxpayers is a broad category which includes everyone, what about the poor people, who are the largest group, who can barely afford to live as it is, there is a global recession underway and people can’t afford tp pay their mortgages, how can they afford another tax.?
@JVbin I don’t see how that rocks the core of the AGW hypothesis though. It was just an expression of an individual’s feelings about the funding behind it.
@WeAreChangeEire The thing is… a carbon tax isn’t as bad as it sounds. In “Ten Technologies to Save the Planet” by Chris Goodall he calculated that a carbon tax of €50 per ton per person would have a negligible impact on a taxpayer’s bills. We’re talking cents here. It’s really not that bad. Still, any effective carbon tax would have to be tougher on businesses than homeowners. USCAP are willing to pay such taxes. That’s not the usual profit-driven, selfish behaviour of corporations.

@slaneyblooms not to say we shouldn’t live in a more sustainable way and preserve and respect the planet, thats a given. But now we have a carbon tax, which is a scam based on fraud and lies, which is crime.
@slaneyblooms Read through climategate and you will see that they manually adjusted the figures, and literally made a lot of the important stuff up. They just made it up, to suit the warming story. And they were caught. Have a read of Lewis’s resignation letter to Curtis G. Callan, Jr., Princeton University, President of the American Physical Society.
