@Christobanistan Yes. Respect for Kepler. It’s impressive that he junked his favored theory when the facts didn’t match it by a small amount and replaced it with a less platonically ideal geometrical theory.

@pytko3 @pytko3 Velikovsky was never accepted by mainstream science. But I agree with you in general, almost all scientists rejected Alfred Wagener’s theory of plate tectonics until after his death. To explain identical fossil distributions over many continents it was postulated that land bridges joined the static continents over which the plants and animals journeyed. And then vanished without trace somehow!
Scientists are not free of dogmatic tendencies and pride. They are human after all.

I really crying here… it’s so beautifull, the imagination of a briliant person like Kepler, which prevail from a sad time of ignorance… imagination which was built with generations and generations of others great scientist which didn’t have any fears to simple ask “why things are like these?” “How do they work?”
And now, sitting in our confortable modern chairs… see that what he predicted, in his imagination, about the human explorers… would really happen nowadays.

Jeez for some reason when it switched to the part where it showed the Earth from the moon, it made me cry.

You know the way the planets along with the sun move seem to be in a model motion, i reminded me of the force within atom what keeps the together yet apart along with the two synergy of positive & negative could there be a law for the size force between the atomic structure & the way our planets move.

@oneadamtwelve86 It’s really just putting 2 and 2 together. The affair happened during the Reformation, in oppsotion to Protestantism and sola fide, sola scriptura theology. Galileo was saying the Bible was wrong, but the Catholic Church’s position on the Bible is that it’s not to be taken literally.
Remember that the Catholic Church didn’t condemn Copernicus. Or Nicholas Cusanus, who was a cardinal and bishop in the Church, and seriously postulated heliocentrism 100 years before Copernicus.
